Bathroom

How often should you clean the bathroom?

The basin and the tap are due every 2 to 4 days. The shower or bath once every 5 to 7 days. The floor once or twice a week. A bathroom shared by four people shifts toward the short end of that range. A bathroom for one person can shift toward the long end.

The toilet is a separate job and needs attention more often than the shower. That is covered on how often to clean the toilet.

Guide per part

Part Guide
Basin, tap and shelf Every 2–4 days
Mirror When there are marks, usually weekly
Shower or bath Every 5–7 days
Shower drain and grout Every 2–4 weeks
Floor 1–2 times a week
Change the towels Once a week

Limescale and soap residue build up faster than dust. If the shower screen is wiped down after showering, the bigger clean shifts a few days later.

Not everything on one day

A “bathroom day” feels heavy and therefore keeps getting pushed back. The basin often needs attention sooner than the grout. Do the part that stands out most, and leave the rest for later.

Tidyo puts the basin, shower and floor on one list as separate items, together with the kitchen and the toilet. You see what makes the most difference now, instead of a fixed bathroom day that nobody finishes.
