Kitchen

How often should you clean the kitchen?

The countertop and the sink are due every 1 to 3 days. The hob every 2 to 4 days, and straight away if something splashes. The floor once or twice a week. A kitchen where someone cooks every day sits at the short end. A kitchen used mainly for coffee and a sandwich can go longer.

Clearing up just after cooking counts. If you wash the pan straight away, the bigger countertop clean shifts a day later.

Guide per part

Part Guide
Countertop and sink Every 1–3 days

Floor 1–2 times a week
Bin Empty it when it is full, wash the bin weekly
Fridge Check every week, clean every 2–4 weeks
Extractor filter Every 1–3 months

What makes the most difference

A clear countertop and a clean hob change how the kitchen feels. The inside of a cupboard does not. Start with what you see and touch when you cook.

In Tidyo the countertop, hob and floor stand separately. After cooking you mark only what you actually did. The rest stays on the list until it is due, alongside the bathroom and the toilet.
